Founding Vision for National Development

Sharing the personal journey and commitment behind establishing an enterprise dedicated to Sierra Leone’s sustainable future.

By Mrs. Hassanatu Turay, Chief Executive Officer

People often ask me, “Why? Why take on the immense challenge of building a company across so many complex sectors?” For me, the answer is simple and deeply personal. I see the boundless potential of Sierra Leone and its people. And I believe, with every fiber of my being, that responsible business is the most powerful force we have to unlock it.

I founded Han Global Group on a core conviction: that profit and purpose are not enemies, but the most powerful of allies. A business that does not serve its community is not truly successful. A development project that is not economically sustainable will not last.

The Birth of an Integrated Model
I saw that our nation’s challenges were interconnected. You cannot improve health without clean water. You cannot have food security without supporting farmers. You cannot have growth without reliable energy and logistics. This insight led directly to our integrated model—a web of solutions designed to reinforce each other and create a resilient whole.

Our Guiding Principle: Partnership
From the beginning, I knew we could not do this alone. That is why our foundation is Public-Private Partnership. This is not a buzzword for us; it is our operating system. It is how we ensure our work is aligned with the long-term vision for Sierra Leone, building trust and ensuring sustainability beyond any single leader or political term.

Every day, I am inspired by our team on the ground, by the community leaders we collaborate with, and by the tangible difference we see. From the child enjoying a nutritious loaf of our bread to the farmer using our fertilizer for a better harvest—these are the moments that fuel our mission.

Han Global Group is my life’s work. It is a commitment to my homeland—a promise to help build a Sierra Leone that is healthier, more capable, and proud. This is not just a company; it is a movement, and I invite you to join us.
